The Swindlehurst name

(These are Edith's notes, collected over the years. For more information about the name, and the international Swindlehurst family please see here).

The first reference to the name so far identified is in "The Bolland Forest and the Hodder Valley", published privately in 1955, and written by Greenwood and Bolton. These note are excerpts quoted in the above but apparently taken from the records of the court leet of the Forest of Bowland and held at Clitheroe Castle.
